AQTF 2010 Essential Standards for Initial Registration

On 3 December 2009, the National Quality Council announced changes to the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Essential Standards for Registration aimed at strengthening the Essential Standards for exiting RTOs and introducing new standards for RTOs registering for the first time. The changes were endorsed by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) on 7 December 2009. Read more

National VET Regulator

The Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment has agreed to a proposal to create a national vocational education and training regulator. The proposal was endorsed by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) on 7 December 2009.

The national vocational education and training regulator will begin operations from 1 January 2011 with the new legislation and transitional arrangements implemented during 2010. The NSW Government and VETAB will be working closely with the Commonwealth on these transitional arrangements. Read COAG communique

Our services

The NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) is responsible for regulating Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in New South Wales.

VETAB also regulates the approval of training providers offering courses for overseas students (CRICOS providers), which include RTOs, schools, English language colleges and interstate RTOs. Read more about becoming a CRICOS provider.
