Case management from VETAB
Case Management has been available to newly registered training organisations (RTOs) since 1 January 2005. It is not compulsory but is offered as an additional service to new RTOs by VETAB.
Case Management is an educative process to assist RTOs in their first year of registration. The AQTF 2007 provides the framework for discussions and assistance.
The case management process
- Starts on receipt of a RTO’s request to participate in the program and the nomination of their AQTF 2007 contact person. Newly registered training organisations will be case managed for up to one year from the initial request, or on completion of 20 hours
- The case manager will contact the RTO to begin the process
- Contact will be maintained through follow up calls and/or emails. There is the potential for a face-to-face meeting, either at the RTO’s premises or at VETAB
- Once the allocation of case management has ended, the data recorded will inform the scope of the post initial audit which is a national requirement of all RTOs and the regulatory framework.
Who will case manage?
A case management project officer, based in VETAB and with experience in AQTF auditing.
What is case management?
The case management process has been updated in 2008 to reflect the focus of the participating RTOs and the advice sought during the preceding year.
The case manager is a point of contact providing advice to RTOs and a range of AQTF 2007 issues, including the following, may be addressed:
- resources that may assist the RTO to improve processes - including workshops and professional development opportunities
- roles and responsibilities in VETAB
- meeting the requirements of the revised AQTF 2007
- implementation of the policies and procedures developed by the RTO to meet the requirements of the initial audit and how these are being implemented
- aspects of the initial audit that required additional evidence to demonstrate compliance
