Industry Skills Councils

There are ten Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) that provide industry advice and representation at a national level. Contact details for each ISC are available at http://www.isc.org.au/index.php

The ISCs give industries, peak bodies, enterprises, unions, training organisations and governments a voice in Australia's vocational education and training system through a national system of industry advisory arrangements and a structure based on industry-led boards of directors and standing committees.

The ISCs provide industry intelligence to the vocational education and training sector based on current and future skills needs and training requirements, including the compilation of industry skills reports.

The ten skills councils are privately registered companies run by industry-based boards of directors, with substantial funding provided by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
