Maintaining CRICOS approval
To maintain CRICOS approval, providers must continue to meet the requirements of:
CRICOS providers that are also Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) must continue to meet the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework 2007 (AQTF 2007).
To ensure that providers continue to meet the necessary guidelines and legislative requirements, VETAB will normally conduct a follow-up audit of RTOs with CRICOS approval 12 months after initial approval. This includes RTOs who have been registered in another state and have gained CRICOS approval in NSW.
Annual fees
CRICOS providers are required to pay an annual fee based on the number of qualifications/courses on their scope of approval.
RTOs with approval to deliver courses to overseas students (CRICOS approval) are subject to additional charges. Schools delivering courses to overseas students also pay annual fees at the rates outlined below, and ELICOS providers also pay a fee to VETAB for the services we provide.
All providers are sent an invoice in December with fees payable annually on 1 January.

Please note that both the AQTF and CRICOS Annual Fees are payable for an RTO with CRICOS approval.
Payment Method
Annual fees can be paid by cheque, or online by credit card or direct debit using VETAB’s Online services facility. Please note that NSW Schools, ELICOS providers and interstate RTOs that are approved to deliver education to overseas students are not able to access VETAB’s Online Services facility and therefore must pay all fees by cheque or money order.
