Amendments to the CUE03 Entertainment (Version 3) Training Package were also accredited on 18 February 2008.

The revised training package includes 18 qualifications from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma.  The industry coverage remains the same as for the CUF01; namely creative, management, administration and technical production roles in the screen and media industries which encompass:

  • Film production (primary release through cinemas)
  • Television production
  • Radio broadcasting
  • Interactive digital media (electronic games, websites, educational resources).

The new qualification structure covers and reflects the areas of scenery, set construction, costume and make-up for the live entertainment industry as well as in the screen and media industries.

The CUE03 Entertainment Training Package includes eight qualifications and one skill set imported from the CUF07 training package.

Information Sessions

NSW VETAB has liaised with the Industry Skills Council, Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA), to organise half-day information sessions which will provide an overview of changes and assist RTOs to understand and interpret the revised training package.

Attendance at the CUF07 Screen and Media Overview information session will facilitate the VETAB rollover process for RTOs with superseded CUF01 and CUE03 qualifications on scope to the revised CUF07 qualifications mapped as having equivalent outcomes.

At least one appropriate person from each RTO needs to attend.

A VETAB attendance form will be distributed to participants at the half-day CUF07 Overview information sessions and collected by the presenter.

RTOs that do not send an appropriate representative to the information session will need to put in an amendment to scope application for the CUF07 qualifications.

The UEE06 Electrotechnology Training Package was conditionally endorsed by the National Training Council (NQC) on 8 November 2006 and the endorsement was recognised by the NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board at its meeting of 5 February 2007.

Following endorsement of the UEE06, a UEE06 Electrotechnology Training Package Implementation Panel was appointed to facilitate the endorsement of the UEE06 Training Package and continued to oversee further work to meet the NQC’s conditions of endorsement.
