What is an audit?
An audit is a planned, systematic and documented process used to assess an RTO’s compliance with the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration. State and territory registering bodies conduct independent audits as a condition of registration. RTOs can conduct internal audits to assess their compliance with the standards and their own policies and procedures as part of their continuous improvement process.
An auditor will undertake a desk audit and/or a site audit to assess various aspects of your organisation’s training services. A training organisation at this time will be required to demonstrate how training and assessment services are provided.
VETAB, as the registering body for vocational education and training in NSW, must ensure that our operations - including audits - meet national standards for registering bodies and adhere to the following five principles:
- Consistency
- Effectiveness
- Proportionality
- Responsiveness
- Transparency
