Why you might be audited?
Once an organisation is registered, a risk profile will be established that is guided by the AQTF 2007 National Guideline for Risk Management.
The risk-assessment process involves assessing your RTO against ‘performance risk indicators’ and ‘supplementary risk indicators’ that relate to risks associated with various operating contexts.
Performance and supplementary risk indicators
Performance risk indicators focus on the performance of your RTO in delivering quality skills outcomes. These indicators are used to give your RTO a ‘risk rating’. This will inform decisions about the regulatory activities undertaken.
The consequences for an RTO from its risk category are described in Section 7.1 of the risk management guideline.
Supplementary risk indicators are considered after your RTO’s risk rating has been decided and regardless of what that risk rating is. The supplementary risk indicators, in conjunction with the performance risk indicators, inform audit activities.
